Environmental Restoration FAQ's
What is Environmental Restoration?

Weed Control FAQ's
Do you use chemicals?
Our experienced and qualified staff are capable of conducting weed control works using a number of spraying methods in order to deliver effective and responsible chemical weed control in a variety of situations and locations. We use a combination of high-volume spray units, backpack sprayers, low volume gas gun/splatter packs, low impact tree injectors and direct application methods.
Why control weeds?
The introduction of plants to Australia has provided many benefits to society over the years. The introductions have supplied food, shelter, medicines and aesthetic enjoyment. But these benefits have often been accompanied by costs, particularly when the plant invades agricultural and natural ecosystems beyond its intended area. These invasions have many negative impacts on agriculture, the environment, society and the economy.
Will you remove trees?
We are experts at removing woody weed infestations and can deliver the required maintenance to prevent re-infestation. Our team are very experienced and qualified chainsaw operators but we do not remove large trees in residential situations.
Rehabilitation & Re-Vegetation

Relevant Project Experience
- Riparian – creek and river revegetation using long stem techniques.

Erosion & Sediment Control & Stream & Waterway Engineering FAQ's
Why is erosion & sediment control important?
Erosion is the physical process in which earthen materials are worn away and transported by natural forces such as wind or water
The effects of soil erosion go beyond the loss of fertile land. It has led to increased pollution and sedimentation in streams and rivers, clogging these waterways and causing declines in fish and other species. And degraded lands are also often less able to hold onto water, which can worsen flooding.
What Erosion & Sediment Control services do you offer?
Bowantz has been undertaking erosion and sediment control projects for over 20 years with a broad knowledge of hydrodynamics and a practical science-based approach that can be tailored to suit any budget. Our team are specialists in difficult areas where we are able to think outside the box and utilise materials on site when access does not allow for importation of external goods. Services include; planting of bank stabilizing plants, installation of sediment fences & hydro-mulching.
What Stream and Waterway Engineering services do you offer?
Stream and waterway engineering have always been a large component of our core business. Bowantz has been engaged by government departments and private land holders for over 20 years to design and implement solutions for their stream and waterway engineering problems. Habitat Protection & Pest Control
Why is habitat protection and pest control important?
Australia has lost 75% of its rainforests and nearly 50% of all forests in the last 200 years, and our high rate of species extinctions is the result. When habitats aren’t managed for conservation, invasive weeds and feral animals can cause huge problems.
The protection of habitat and control of pest species helps preserve biodiversity which in turn maintains a healthy ecosystem. Healthy ecosystems clean our water, purify our air, maintain our soil, regulate the climate, recycle nutrients and provide us with food. They provide raw materials and resources for medicines and other purposes. They are at the foundation of all civilisation and sustain our economies.
