If you buy a block of land between 1 & 40 Hectares that is zoned for development you can clear up to 0.5 of a hectare without having to enter The Biodiversity Offset Scheme.
Most development applications in NSW that require the clearing of vegetation or that occur upon mapped bushfire prone land it is compulsory to provide a flora and fauna impact report, landscape management plan, & bushfire assessment (BAL) report.
Ecological attributes such as native vegetation and habitat elements such as bush rocks, tree hollows, and creeks can significantly increase the potential for threatened plants and animals to be present in a landscape? Development activities in NSW are required to avoid, mitigate and offset potential impacts to threatened species.
